ORIGINS
Our story
Built the Same Way Since Day One
John's Carpets has become a trusted name in Ashford and Kent for many reasons. We're a family-run, independent business, and we still operate the same way we always have - turn up on time, give honest advice, charge a fair price, and leave the floor looking exactly as it should.
We're not a showroom chain. We're not a national franchise. We're local people, serving local homes and businesses across Kent - and we plan to keep it that way.
Trusted by Thousands - From Ashford Homes to Historic Kent Venues
We work with homeowners, landlords, estate and letting agents, schools, businesses and architects across Kent. We're proud to count one of Kent's Borough Councils among our long-term clients - as well as local schools, hospitality venues and commercial developments across the county.
One of our most memorable projects was fitting carpets in selected rooms at Boys Hall - the historic boutique hotel, pub and restaurant in Willesborough, Ashford, right around the corner from where we’re based. We’ve also fitted flooring in a historic Kent property with a history stretching back to the Domesday Book. Every job tells a story, and we take pride in every one of them.
But just as often, it's the smaller jobs we're proudest of - the customers who've been coming back to us for years, who recommend us to their neighbours, and who trust us with their homes time after time.
OUR VALUES
What we stand for
Since we started our family business, six things have never changed about the way we work.
Family-Run & Customer-Focused
Every customer matters to us - whether you're having a single bedroom fitted or an entire commercial property. You deal with people who genuinely care about getting the job right.
Honest Advice. No Pushy Sales.
We don't employ salespeople. We have flooring experts who'll help you find the right product at the right price. If something isn't right for your home, we'll tell you.
Quality Products, Fitted to a High Standard
We only stock brands we trust: Kellars, Solent Wholesale, Valley Wholesale Carpets - and every fitting is backed with free aftercare if needed.
Reliable Service & Clear Communication
We respond almost instantly to every call and enquiry - because we know that's what wins trust. You'll always know where you stand with us, from first contact to final fitting.
We Treat Every Home with Respect
Our fitters treat your home as if it were their own. Furniture is moved with care, old materials are cleared away, and your space is left clean and tidy - every time.
Competitive Pricing Without Cutting Corners
We're consistently one of the most competitive carpet and flooring fitters in Kent. But we never compromise on the quality of our products or the standard of our work to get there.
WHO WE WORK WITH
Flooring solutions for every customer
Whether you're renovating your home, managing rental properties or fitting out commercial premises, we're here to provide expert advice, quality flooring and professional installation.
Homeowners
Whether it's a single bedroom or a full house refurb, we treat your home with the same care and attention we'd give our own. We bring the samples to your door, work around your schedule, and leave everything spotless.
Businesses & Commercial
From offices and schools to boutique hotels - we've fitted floors in some of Kent's most recognised venues and work to tight commercial timescales without compromising on quality.
Landlords & Letting Agents
Reliable, fast and cost-effective. We work with landlords, letting agents and property developers across Kent - getting rental properties back on the market quickly and to a high standard.
ROOTED IN KENT
Proudly based in Ashford
We're based in Willesborough, Ashford - and we're proud of it. We've grown alongside this town, and the relationships we've built here - with homeowners, businesses, councils and schools - are the foundation of everything we do.
When you choose John's Carpets, you're not calling a call centre or booking through a website. You're talking to the same local people who've been fitting floors in this community for years.
